How Do You Design A Conversion-Centric Flyer?
Crafting compelling flyers is a skill that every marketer needs to master. Let’s jump right in:
I) Simplicity Is Success
Driving down a road, in the corner of your eyes you see two signs:
1) Black and Yellow Signs
2) Elaborately Designed Road Signs
You may appreciate a pretty design, but the simple one gets you the results you want. Don’t believe me, we ran this exact test; take a guess as to which one yielded a higher conversation rate. By a significant 3x higher ROI, the plain black and yellow signs were the winner.
II) Highlight The Conversion Goal
Whatever action you want the recipient to take should be the star of your flyer. If it’s a phone number, make it huge. If it’s a special sale, let that sale scream from the page. The point is to make your main message so prominent that it cannot be ignored.
A very common mistake is focusing so much on the information put on the flyer, that the conversion is forgetten; never lose sight of the purpose of this campaign: Sales*.
All aspects of the flyer's design should be centered around driving conversions. This includes using bold colors for your main message, ensuring the text is readable from a distance, and employing directional cues that lead the eye directly to your call to action.
III) Eliminate Filler
Every element on your flyer should serve a purpose. Avoid the temptation to add decorative fluff that doesn’t directly contribute to your goal. This clutter distracts your main message and reduce the impact of your call to action.
A Real Comparison
Let’s map this concept to flyers; take these two samples:
This design above encapsulates a good flyer design. Wondering Why?
1) It’s Simple: The service and the conversion point are the most prominent aspects of the design.
2) Conversion Goal Is Centric: The largest part of the flyer is the phone number, the ideal conversion for this campaign.
3) No Filler: There is no paragraphs and useless fluff, only the useful information is added to this flyer
Now, don’t get me wrong, don’t make your flyer ugly. Flyers aren’t road signs, just text won’t appeal a potential client; this example by no means is unappealing, just simple. Do your best to make it pretty, to please the eyes, but also make every aspect of the flyer easily digestable, and ensure that a potential client doesn’t have to think about how to reach out.
